Is Kate Middleton Wearing a Wig?

Is Kate Middleton Wearing a Wig?

Posted by Santana Fell on Sep 13, 2024

Kate Middleton, The Princess of Wales, announced the completion of her preventive chemotherapy in a heart-touching video that shows her enjoying the little pleasures in life, surrounded by her loved ones.

Referring to the last nine months of her preventative cancer treatment, Catherine said, “The cancer journey is complex, scary and unpredictable for everyone, especially those closest to you.” Thankfully for her, the 'incredibly tough' times are now over, as she is cancer-free. She is now focused on ‘staying cancer-free.’

The Instagram post from the official Instagram account of The Prince and Princess of Wales, based at Kensington Palace, read:

As the summer comes to an end, I cannot tell you what a relief it is to have finally completed my chemotherapy treatment.

The last nine months have been incredibly tough for us as a family. Life, as you know it, can change in an instant and we have had to find a way to navigate the stormy waters and road unknown.

The cancer journey is complex, scary and unpredictable for everyone, especially those closest to you.

With humility, it also brings you face to face with your own vulnerabilities in a way you have never considered before, and with that, a new perspective on everything.

This time has above all reminded William and me to reflect and be grateful for the simple yet important things in life, which so many of us often take for granted. Of simply loving and being loved.

Doing what I can to stay cancer free is now my focus. Although I have finished chemotherapy, my path to healing and full recovery is long and I must continue to take each day as it comes.

I am however looking forward to being back at work and undertaking a few more public engagements in the coming months when I can.

Despite all that has gone before I enter this new phase of recovery with a renewed sense of hope and appreciation of life.

William and I are so grateful for the support we have received and have drawn great strength from all those who are helping us at this time. Everyone’s kindness, empathy and compassion has been truly humbling.

To all those who are continuing their own cancer journey – I remain with you, side by side, hand in hand. Out of darkness, light can come so let that light shine bright.

What Is Preventive Chemotherapy And How Does It Work?

Preventive Chemotherapy, formerly known as adjuvant chemotherapy, is a cancer treatment that uses powerful drugs to attack rapidly multiplying cancer cells, shrink a tumour, or prevent a relapse of cancer. The different doses of medicines also hurt other fast-growing cells in your body, including cells in your hair roots. Therefore, one of its major side effects is severe hair loss.

Does Chemotherapy Cause Hair Loss For Everyone?

Chemotherapy

According to some medical experts, not all chemotherapy treatments cause hair loss. Different medicines affect people differently. While some medications result in temporary hair thinning or severe hair loss, others do not affect the hair as much. Some medications or a combination also cause overall hair loss throughout the body, including the eyebrows.

One Reddit user says, “Not all Chemotherapy treatments affect the hair. I had breast cancer, and the cocktail of chemotherapy made me lose all my hair. My friend had lung cancer and was given different treatment. Her hair wasn’t affected at all.”

Why Does Kate Middleton Still Have Hair After Chemotherapy?

Princess Kate has always been admired by fans of the royal family and people worldwide. Our hearts go out to her for what she is going through. Collectively, everyone is happy that she is out of the evil crutches of cancer, but people can't help but notice her long, luscious hair, an unusual trait after chemotherapy treatment. That's when this question arose: ‘Why does Kate Middleton still have hair after chemotherapy?’

Kate did not lose her hair after chemotherapy. While we do not know the inside details of her preventative cancer treatment, we know that the Princess of Wales has access to the best care and treatment in the world. She must have used treatment like Cold Cap Therapy, which prevents hair loss.

The Princess is definitely under a team of the best doctors and can afford the most expensive treatments that commoners would be able to get access to without draining their bank and more. It is also possible that the medications were not strong enough to cause hair loss or that she was just lucky that it did not affect her.

Is Kate Middleton Wearing A Wig?

Human Hair Wigs

Even though Kate Middleton has been vocal about refusing to wear a wig during her cancer treatment, some people think otherwise.

Let's go back a little in time. If you were to look at Kate Middleton’s natural hair before her engagement and marriage into the British Royal Family, you would notice that she did not have thick hair. Cut to her public appearances since marriage; she sports voluminous, lustrous hair that complements her beautiful face perfectly.

While gaining more hair is quite possible with medication, what is not natural is her hair growth.

Here is what a hairstylist and hair growth enthusiast noticed about the Princess’s hair:

“If you look at the photos of Kate from the fall and winter of 2023, you will notice that she has some "curtain" bangs - they are wispy bangs that part on each side. It adds volume to the front of her face. You will also notice - especially on her left side, that in the photos from November and December, those bangs at the front of her face are too short to tuck behind her ear.

Fast-forward to the video of her announcing her cancer diagnosis in Spring 2024. There is ZERO sign of curtain bangs or bang growth. Her forehead is much more exposed than it has been for the last few months, and there is no indicator of any curtain bang growth. Even if your hair grows fast, it doesn't grow THAT fast.

Either Kate is wearing a wig, or that is not her in the video.”

While some hair professionals suggest that Kate uses lots of hairspray, others have speculated that she has always worn hair extensions or wigs for a flawless look.

Some other curious fans noticed a wig line in her early days of royal engagements. Watch this video for more insights.

Superhairpieces’ Take On The Matter:

Human Hair Toppers

As a leading company in the alternate hair industry, we think Kate has not been wearing wigs. Instead, the princess must have used high-quality Human Hair Toppers to add the much-needed volume to the top of her head and the front of her hairline.

A woman’s hairpiece can work wonders in enhancing the look and feel of your natural hair, and that's precisely what it has done to her hair, too.

However, if she has lost hair during her cancer treatment, she must wear glueless medical wigs for women that are completely natural-looking and create a suction effect on the scalp for the ultimate realistic appearance.

They come in various lengths, hair colours, and styles to blend with your natural hair, so no one knows if you are wearing one.

Kate Middleton, always sporting the most lustrous, perfect hair, can be the work of great stylists or ultra-premium human hair wigs.

Whether Kate chooses to wear a wig or not is her personal choice. Not everyone is affected by chemotherapy in the same way. But if you or someone you know is experiencing uncontrollable hair loss and wants the best solution to cover their heads, look no further than Superhairpieces’ ultra-natural-looking premium human hair wigs and hair toppers for an utterly undetectable look. It will definitely boost your confidence and make you look more like yourself.
